We went today and let Lauryn feed the giraffes. She had a great time.

David and Lauryn got to ride a little on the trail.  My bike is a road bike, so I couldn't join them, but it was a nice break.



Boat Ride in Puerto Rico

We were lucky enough to have an Island to go to daily from our hotel.  We stayed out on the East end of the island, and our hotel owned "Palimino Island".  The first day we took a fast boat out to the island.  Every other day we just rode the fairy. 

Explore Austin

Today we rode the MetroRail Train to Downtown Austin.  We took our bikes so we could ride around and "explore Austin".  Well, we made it a lot further than I thought we would! 

It was Lauryn's first time on the train!  Here is what she thought.....

We even had some entertainment on the train!

Train day!

Tomorrow is train day. We are going on the commuter train, Austin metro rail. We will take our bikes do when we get downtown we can ride around and get lunch. Stay tuned for pictures from our adventure.

Gymnastics camp

Last week Lauryn went to gymnastics camp at zero gravity. Zac (a villager) went with her.

Friday, they did a little "show"of what they had leaned. Lauryn did the vault, the bar (one on the uneven bars), and a floor routine.

More Vacation Pictures

If you were following us last week, you know we were on vacation in Puerto Rico!  It was a beautiful, amazing, fun, relaxing trip.  The island is awesome!!  If you ever get a chance we ALL recommend you go.  Just brush up on your spanish before you go.  Here are a few more pictures we haven't shared yet.

Old San Juan and the rain forest

Yesterday we went to BOTH The Rain Forest and Old San Juan. We had a great time, but it was a busy day! There was a lot of walking, but we got some great pictures. Here are a few from our phones. I'll post more from the real camera when we get home. I am sad to say today is our last full day. Tomorrow we head home around noon.

Vacation

We arrived in Puerto Rico yesterday. It is awesome. Our room and hotel are amazing and today we spent the day at the island.

Weekend with Lauryn

We were with Lauryn this weekend. We had a very full weekend. Friday night we went bowling. She had a great time and even beat me! Saturday we went and saw Madagascar 3, which was great, and got some clothes for the summer/vacation. Saturday night was a BBQ at Frankie and Hugh's house. Today we are celebrating Fathers day.

Busy right? Oh yeah, in 15 days we will be on vacation in Puerto Rico. Stay tuned for more summer updates.

Spring Soccer

Lauryn is playing soccer again.  This may be her last year, so check out these pictures. 

She is number 10 in these pictures.  So far, they've had 2 games (lost both).  The Ref at the last game said that they don't keep score as the games are "just for fun".

The game was so cold (in the upper 50s) and extremely windy!

In the next few weeks Lauryn has her first track meet.  She is running a relay, and may run track next year in school.

What did you do last week?

Well...........if you were at our house that answer would be easy. You were BUSY!! You guessed it, it was spring break last week. So lauryn was here all week. (my caps won't work with the l!!!!)

Here is what she did:

Monday -- Bike ride with David for 8 miles, ran errands, etc....then 4 mile bike ride while I walked Winnie -- needless to say it was a very active day!

Tuesday -- the zoo with Jessica and the Blanchard girls. But wait, it was the zoo in WACO!!! We made a cake that night with Zach for Patti's b-day also!

Wednesday -- Frankie and Hugh took lauryn and zach to Main event, and then we had PF Changs for dinner in Austin.

Thursday -- morning she was hanging out with the Blanchard girls at their house, afternoon she cleaned her room and took all the ladybug stuff out of it. We are getting ready for a big girl room. Then after work David and lauryn rode the trail again for another 6-8 miles.











Friday -- RODEO with Sara! I took off a 1/2 day so the girls could go to the carnival / Rodeo. It was great, we rode rides, saw the animals, went to the petting zoo, and saw the pig races. Yes, that is apparenty a thing.

Of course Friday night ended with a sleepover for Sara at our house! so the fun didn't end :)

Saturday we had a b-day party for Winnie so had some friends come over. Saturday night lauryn went to a hockey game with David, Frankie, Hugh, and the Blanchards. (don't worry about me I got to SEW!)

Sunday we grilled and then lauryn had to go home. She got a new puppy at home so she was so excited to get home and meet him!

It was a busy week for all, and only about 100 days til she comes back for the summer. Guess I'll be looking for more fun things to do then.
